MS Dhoni and his future has become a national issue in the recent times. He was part of Team India in the recently concluded World Cup. Men in Blue couldn't win the tournament and bowed out following their semi-final defeat against New Zealand. The next assignment is against the Windies and according to reports, MS Dhoni has made himself unavailable for the entire tour.

His parents want their son to retire from international cricket. Keshav Banerjee, his childhood coach from Ranchi, has revealed his parents wish after meeting them in Ranchi.

“Dhoni’s parents told me that the entire media is saying that he should retire, and we feel they’re right. They said we can’t handle this big property anymore,” Banerjee was quoted as saying in Sports Tak.

However, he asked them to be patient for one more year. “You’ve handled it for so long – around 10 to 12 years. You can do it another year,” he added.

Banerjee also told Dhoni’s parents that he should play until the next edition of the T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to start on October 18 in 2020.
