Ishant Sharma is inconsistent, says former bowler

Ishant Sharma has been erratic throughout his career, failing to establish himself in the playing XI. Despite getting chances, he has been unsuccessful to win matches for Team India, resulting in axing. He is part of the squad which is currently in South Africa but had to warm the bench in the first Test match against the home team.

Former India pacer Raju Kulkarni is not a big fan of Ishant Sharma, whom he finds stupid and unworthy. He has pointed out that despite playing more than 70 Test matches for India, Ishant is still a liability on the team, fading away every now and then.

"He (Ishant Sharma) has played 78 (79) Test matches, to play 78 (79) Test matches for India is amazing. But I don't think he has ever led from the front and that has been a problem with him," Kulkarni told reporters here last night. "He is too erratic, every-time he comes with new techniques, strategies, and that itself is very confusing for him," he added.

He also pointed out Ishant’s attitude in the last two Test series.

"In the last two series, he (Sharma) was acting very stupidly, reacting to the situations badly, and I think every time he comes out with something different and that is not making him very consistent," he said.
