England paceman Tim Bresnan will miss the final Ashes test against Australia with a stress fracture in his lower back — opening up the possibility of Chris Tremlett returning to the team after a 19-month absence. The England and Wales Cricket Board said Bresnan's injury will rule him out for "the remainder of the international season." Graham Onions is already out with a broken finger. Tremlett is likely to be Bresnan's replacement for the fifth test starting Aug. 21 at The Oval.
The tall fast bowler hasn't played a test for England since January 2012 because of a string of injury setbacks. He was named in the squads for the third and fourth tests but wasn't used. England has an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series.
